Prof. Dr. Terje Ogden

Terje Ogden (PhD) holds the position as research director at the Norwegian Center for Child Behavioral Development (Nasjonalt Utviklingssenter for Barn og Unge – NUBU). He is also a professor at the Institute of Psychology, University of Oslo, Norway. Ogden is project leader of a longitudinal prospective study of the social development of children from 6 months to school age (The Behavior Outlook Norwegian Developmental Study – BONDS). Moreover, he is chair of the program board for Research and Innovation in the Educational Sector in the Norwegian Research Council.

Research interests include the development, implementation and evaluation of interventions targeting children and youth with mental health and conduct problems. All interventions are family and community based in order to strengthen families and to prevent and reduce conduct problems and placement out of home. Interventions are implemented in municipal services for children and youth like the Child Welfare services, the Child and adolescent mental health services, childcare and schools.
